    Zanzibar → Tarangire National Park | Fly-In · Game Drive ·

We pick you up from your hotel for your morning scheduled flight, departing Zanzibar at 8am for Arusha Airport. Watching the Indian Ocean give way to the dry savanna below is part of the experience. Your guide and private 4x4 meet you on arrival, and after a two-to-three-hour drive your safari begins in Tarangire. The afternoon game drive follows the Tarangire River, the dry-season magnet that draws wildlife from across the region. Elephant herds wade and drink along the banks, giraffe browse the acacia canopy, and the baobab plains stretch away in every direction. By sunset you're at your lodge, where the bush comes right to your door — a hot dinner and your first night under a Tanzania sky.

    Day 02

To the Ngorongoro Crater | Highlands Transit · Crater Descent

After breakfast at the lodge, you set out early and climb through the Rift Valley foothills into the cooler montane belt that rings the Ngorongoro Caldera. The landscape changes as you go — the dry plains fall away behind you and the air turns crisp and green on the approach to the crater highlands. By midday you descend the access road into the crater itself. The atmosphere shifts immediately — enclosed, primordial, extraordinarily concentrated. Lions operate in the open here because prey is plentiful and there is nowhere to hide, and the black rhino is seen more reliably than almost anywhere in Africa. Your guide knows exactly where to look.

Lake Manyara → Zanzibar | Lake Drive · Fly Out

After breakfast you set out for Lake Manyara, the quiet surprise of the northern circuit. The drive down brings you to the lake's edge, where the landscape changes character entirely — alkaline shallows give way to dense groundwater forest fed by springs at the base of the escarpment. A final game drive runs along the shore: flamingos wade in the shallows in their thousands, troops of baboons and blue monkeys move through the forest canopy, and buffalo and zebra graze the open plains. With luck your guide finds the lake's famous tree-climbing lions draped in the acacias. In the evening you fly back to Zanzibar, where we meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Travel Info at glance

What should I wear on a safari day?

Wear lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (like khaki or beige) to stay cool and blend into the environment. Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunglasses are also recommended. Early mornings and evenings can be chilly, so bring a light jacket.

What time do safari game drives usually start and end?

Morning game drives typically start around 6:00 AM and last 3–4 hours, while afternoon or evening drives begin around 3:00–4:00 PM and return by sunset. Exact times may vary depending on the season and your lodge’s schedule.

Is it safe to go on a safari?

Yes, safaris are safe when conducted by professional guides who follow park rules. Always remain in the vehicle unless instructed otherwise and avoid sudden movements or loud noises near wildlife.

Will I see all the Big Five during my safari?

Sightings vary and are never guaranteed as animals roam freely. However, with experienced guides and multiple game drives, your chances of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—are high in many national parks.

What should I bring with me on a game drive?

Bring binoculars, a camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, water, and a small snack. Your guide may also provide some of these items, but it’s best to come prepared.
