Trip Highlights
What to expect on this trip
Serengeti: Africa's Most Famous Stage Two full days in the Serengeti give you time to settle into its rhythms — morning drives when the predators are hunting, afternoon light when the plains turn gold, and evenings back at camp when the savanna sounds take over.
Fly Between Parks, Not Drive Charter flights connect each leg of the journey. You lose no time on long transfers, arrive at each park fresh, and see Tanzania from the air — a perspective that puts the scale of the wilderness into context.
Ngorongoro's Enclosed World The crater is as close as Africa gets to a guaranteed Big Five morning. Lions, elephant, black rhino, buffalo and hippo share a sealed caldera that keeps them — and you — in remarkably close company.
Private & Unshared Throughout Your vehicle, your guide, your itinerary. No joining another group at sunrise, no waiting for others at a sighting. Every decision about where to go and how long to stay is yours.

Zanzibar → Seronera, Serengeti | Fly-In · Afternoon Game Drive
Zanzibar → Seronera, Serengeti | Fly-In · Afternoon Game Drive
We collect you from your Zanzibar hotel and bring you to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled flight inland to Seronera Airstrip, at the geographic heart of the Serengeti. Your guide is waiting as you land, and the scale of the place announces itself straight away — open grassland in every direction, broken only by kopjes, acacia groves and the distant silhouettes of wildlife. After a short orientation drive you check in at camp and settle in over lunch. The afternoon game drive heads into the Seronera Valley, where the rivers attract permanent concentrations of predators and prey. This is one of the most reliable areas in Africa for leopard sightings, and the lions here are resident year-round. Your private tented camp is set within the park: a standing-height tent with a king bed, en-suite bathroom, and a private veranda where the evening drink arrives as the plains cool. Dinner is served under canvas with the bush just beyond the lamplight.

Serengeti | Full Day Game Drive · Picnic Lunch on the Plains
Serengeti | Full Day Game Drive · Picnic Lunch on the Plains
A full day in the Serengeti — no transit, no deadlines, nowhere to be except wherever the wildlife takes you. You leave camp at first light when the air is cold and the predators are making their final moves of the night. The Seronera circuit offers some of the park's most concentrated game viewing: lions with cubs on the kopjes, cheetahs perched on termite mounds scanning the open ground, and depending on the season, the edge of the wildebeest migration moving through the southern or northern plains. Lunch is taken in the field — your guide sets up a picnic at a scenic spot on the plains, just the two of you with the Serengeti spread out in every direction. The afternoon is yours to use as you choose: further game driving, a quiet hour back at camp, or simply sitting with the view. Sundowners are poured wherever the light is best.

Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Mto wa Mbu | Morning Drive · Crater Descent
Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater → Mto wa Mbu | Morning Drive · Crater Descent
One final morning drive in the Serengeti — the plains reward early risers, and this last session often delivers the most memorable sighting of the trip. After breakfast and pack-up, a short charter we arrange for you crosses the Ngorongoro Highlands and sets you down near the crater rim, ready to drop straight in. The descent on a clear afternoon is among the most dramatic arrivals in African wildlife travel. You drop 600 metres on a steep gravel road onto the caldera floor, where the whole ecosystem is held within the ring of ancient walls — black rhino in the open, lions and buffalo around the crater lake, and exceptional birdlife along the wetlands. A picnic lunch on the floor, then you climb out and drive down to Mto wa Mbu, where your lodge sits among the green of the rift valley.

Mto wa Mbu → Tarangire → Zanzibar | Tarangire Game Drive · Fly Out
Mto wa Mbu → Tarangire → Zanzibar | Tarangire Game Drive · Fly Out
Mto wa Mbu sits right at Tarangire's doorstep, so the morning starts close to the action. Tarangire is a different kind of landscape from the Serengeti — shaped by giant baobabs and the elephant herds that come down to the river in the dry season, when the park holds some of the largest concentrations of game in the north. You game drive through the day with a picnic lunch in the field, leaving in the late afternoon to reach the Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar. A car and driver meet you on arrival to take you to your hotel — transfer times vary with the distance to your hotel. The four days close with a beach sunset.

Frequently Asked Questions
Travel Info at glance
What should I wear on a safari day?Wear lightweight, neutral-colored clothing (like khaki or beige) to stay cool and blend into the environment. Comfortable walking shoes, a hat, and sunglasses are also recommended. Early mornings and evenings can be chilly, so bring a light jacket.
What time do safari game drives usually start and end?Morning game drives typically start around 6:00 AM and last 3–4 hours, while afternoon or evening drives begin around 3:00–4:00 PM and return by sunset. Exact times may vary depending on the season and your lodge’s schedule.
Is it safe to go on a safari?Yes, safaris are safe when conducted by professional guides who follow park rules. Always remain in the vehicle unless instructed otherwise and avoid sudden movements or loud noises near wildlife.
Will I see all the Big Five during my safari?Sightings vary and are never guaranteed as animals roam freely. However, with experienced guides and multiple game drives, your chances of spotting the Big Five—lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and buffalo—are high in many national parks.
What should I bring with me on a game drive?Bring binoculars, a camera, sunscreen, insect repellent, water, and a small snack. Your guide may also provide some of these items, but it’s best to come prepared.
